Morokami Seminar
General Incorporated Association

For companies and organizations

Why We Incorporated

Since its founding in 2006, Morokami Seminar has built on the study of consumer psychology and marketing to pursue hands-on work in regional revitalization, product development, and beyond. Supported by many companies, municipalities, and communities along the way, our students have gained experience that no classroom alone could provide.

As our activities expanded, we came to need three things: a way to carry projects across academic years, a proper legal and accounting vehicle for external partnerships, and a structure connecting alumni and current students across generations. To address these needs and build a foundation linking student learning to society, we established the Morokami Seminar General Incorporated Association in 2025, as part of the seminar's 20th anniversary program.

The energy of that cross-generational gathering is what pushed us to take the step of incorporating.

Main Areas of Work

Regional revitalization — In partnership with Choshi City, we run the "Choshi Iine! Kaigi," where local residents, businesses, and students collaborate on town walks, resource mapping, advertisement creation, and hands-on experiences of local assets.

Product development — We conduct product development and marketing work with corporate partners, including the concept development and crowdfunding campaign for the cosmetics brand "VEIL" and the sales promotion project for the supplement "OSACARE."

Academic work — Multiple selections each year in Hosei University's prize essay competition, plus conference presentations at venues such as the Japan Industrial Management Association.

Ways to Work With Us

1. Project collaboration & partnership

For challenges in regional revitalization, product development, consumer research, or branding, we bring together academic knowledge in consumer psychology, the execution capability of our students, and our alumni network.

We charge no consulting or supervision fees. You have full access to twenty years of accumulated expertise in consumer psychology and marketing, alongside our students' hands-on capability. Costs directly required to run a project — fieldwork, research expenses, and so on — are discussed on a per-project basis.

2. Supporting membership

We also welcome supporting members and sponsors who share the aims of the seminar and wish to back our activities financially. Contributions go directly to students' hands-on work.

  • Student travel and accommodation for fieldwork and on-site research
  • Costs of running community workshops and events
  • Expenses for prototyping and research studies
  • Costs of presenting results and producing activity reports
